DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 2 (Two) Seth Thomas Marine: (1) Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., marine clock, 8 day, time only, spring-driven lever escapement in a brass case with snap bezel, a 4.25 inch white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, and blued steel hands. (2) Seth Thomas Sons & Co., New York, marine clock, 8 day, time only, spring-driven lever escapement in a brass case with hinged bezel, 3.5 inch white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, and blued steel hands.
CONDITION: (1) Brass case with a mellow patina. Small dents around edge of bezel. A few hairline cracks around 12 o'clock. Small chips in dial around the winding arbor hole. The minute hand has been repaired with solder and is now short. (2) Original, but uneven patina on brass case. Small circular piece that holds bottom of case together at the seam is absent. Many hairline cracks in dial. Lost enamel has been filled in near center arbor and winding arbor holes. Missing two of the four screws that hold the movement to the case. Dimensions are for the the larger of the two clocks.
